I love knitting and crochet but I really have to say I just enjoy anything to do with crafting. I will try beading, flower arranging, quilting and anything else I read about, shop for and visit in shops. I wish I was a better sewer but I'm trying. Have a great day. Love that material...colors, design, fabulous.

I adore crochet and would do it all the time if I could. I want to learn to knit but it just feels so awkward every time I have tried. I am determined to keep trying until it feels more natural -- maybe I need a teacher instead of trying to learn it myself! I have sewn most of my life and find it just as fun as crochet, just in a different way. I can move from one to the other pretty effortlessly, and it's my dream to have a spot for each thing I enjoy doing. That way I don't have to unpack and set up a project every time I want to work on it, whether it's sewing, beading, crocheting, knitting, or tatting (another art I want to learn!).

I've done all three, though I only started sewing this year. I made a few little outfits for my toddler, because she HAS to wear them. (Ha!) Actually, I started with toddler clothes for quick pay-off projects.

I knit and crochet on a regular basis in the evening. I find it very portable, which is why I work with yarn more than I sew. When it comes to sewing, I feel like I need to set aside a block of time and clean up a section of my bedroom before I can start. This can be hard to do with 2 children, under 3, but when I'm feeling inspired, I can easily put forth the extra effort required.

I love to sew and have sewn since I have been 5 years old. We lived next door to my grandma and I would all of the time go visit her because she was always doing something with fabric. I learned to sew on a tredell (sp?) sewing machine and my mother worried that I would hurt myself. My Grandma told her that if I ran a needle in my finger I would learn, but I never did. I was always watching her sew or quilt. She would piece her tops on the machine and then hand quilt them. She also Crocheted and taught me how to do that. In my mind they go hand in hand, I think because of my childhood. My other grandmother was also a seamstress and made beautiful clothing for people. My mother had many beautiful clothes made for her growing up and I was even made dresses by her. I have done many other things during my life, but sewing is my joy and crocheting in my second love. I have knitted some, again because my grand mother did, but it didn't score as high on my list.
I remember one time that I was trying to make an apron for a county fair. I would work on it and show it to my mom. She would hand it back to me and say you need to do things right so I would have to rip out and do it over again. I would get so mad at her I would throw the apron on the floor and want to quit. She would calmly pick it up and hand it back to me. That year I won third place in 4H county fair. After that I was unstoppable. I did many other things during my work life but my mom started smiling when I started doing alterations for a living. Eventually I went into Bridal and formal wear alterations and custom sewing. My mom passed away two days before Christmas this last year so the women that influenced me in my life are gone but the memories still live on.
I am in fact headed toward making me a new wardrobe as I have lost over 105 pounds and working toward 200 pounds total loss.
Thank you for letting me share.

I like to crochet ,but the easy patterns are never easy, I end up ripping out more than I stitch,,I have 2 afghans sitting unfinished, I get discouraged, but then I watch your show and feel inspired and try again. I would love to be able to knit like some who can do it while talking and watching tv and not even look at what they are doing.Ther are so many pretty yarns out here.I would like to sew more, I guess it's the patterns that get me frustrated what takes some people a day or two to make takes me weeks it seems
