The bowls are adorable. I think the idea of a straight line sewing is awesome. Your book will be great as a tool to teach new sewers. The fun quick projects will be so much fun for experienced sewers too.

These look a lot like the Bavarian bread baskets I’ve made, but I’ve always given them seams to keep them squared off. I love the rounded look, and I’ll be giving it a try very soon!

My sewing machine story started when I was 11 years old. I was already coming up with my own purse patterns, pretty much a square with a triangle flap that folded over and a braided yarn strap!! :) So my mom got a sewing machine from my grandma that would be just for me. It was one of those old ones that was in a cabinet. When not in use, it could fold down inside and you’d never know it was a sewing machine! :) It wasn’t one of the REALLY old treadle ones, it was electric. But it was old enough to have metal bobbins. It worked great, and I used it for a few years before graduating to my mom’s old Singer when she got a fancy Pfaff machine. Happy memories…. :)

Hi,
I just love following you on the blog and twitter. I bought your book after watching this video since those bowls look so cute and a straight line is about all I am capable of sewing-wise. I hate to be the spelling police, but I think fusible is misspelled in the list of what you need to make these. It says fuseable interfacing. Great video otherwise!
