announcing: Brooklyn Craft Company!

Hello, crafty people! As I’ve been hinting here and there, I’ve been working on something behind the scenes. Something big. And today I am finally able to share it with you.

Introducing Brooklyn Craft Company! Here’s a little video to show you what we’re all about:

Brooklyn Craft Company is an upcoming brick-and-mortar space in Greenpoint, Brooklyn where you can come to take classes and attend events on everything to do with modern crafts and DIY. We’ll offer a wide range of classes, from traditional crafts like sewing and knitting, to trendier topics like jewelry making, printmaking, macrame and more. We’ll really offer a little bit of everything for every kind of crafty person!

Having a permanent space means we’ll also be expanding Brooklyn Craft Camp in big ways! We’ve got two Craft Camps coming up this fall, and several in the works for 2014–so stay tuned for updates on those.

And if you don’t live in the NYC area, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! We’re going to be blogging about all this good stuff and sharing it all on our website via online tutorials, patterns, how-to’s, videos and more. Our goal is to build modern craft and DIY content that can be enjoyed by everyone, not just by people who can attend our classes and events in person.

But before we open our doors for all that awesome craftiness, I need to ask for a little help from YOU. To fund the last stage of our launch (furnishing our space and stocking up on tools and supplies), we’ve created an Indiegogo campaign. Our hope is that everyone out there who wants to support modern crafting, cool classes, great events, and craft entrepreneurship will help us meet our goal–so that we can get busy creating something awesome, for everyone.

We could really use your help! Please, click on over and check out our campaign. If you can, we’d love it if you’d help out with a small donation. And either way, please help us spread the word by sharing our campaign far and wide!

Thank you so, so much!!!!

Good luck!!!! Such a great idea to have a space like this to go to. My friends opened one of these in our town, Baltimore, and I love it there! Here’s the link to ours:

This is great. and good luck. I’m going to make a contribution as we need spaces to learn and create.
